Peoples Home Equity grew out of a local start up here in Knoxville Tennessee in August of 1998. Quickly, a partnership was formed between Jack Williamson and Aaron Wimsatt who had a wholesale business Peoples Home Equity. The two were wildly successful building over 75 Branches and 350 Loan Originators. Cardinal Financial took interest and acquired PHE in October of 2018.

I am a long time resident of West Knoxville, growing up in Rocky Hill, attending Bearden High School and the University of Tennessee. I am married to Gayle for almost 42 years, with 3 wonderful children, two of which work with me in our business. I chose the Mortgage Lending industry to make a career change in 2012. After a thorough time of research, introspection, and careful consideration, I chose Peoples Home Equity.

Previous to the mortgage business, I enjoyed a long and productive career in the Magazine Distribution and Publishing Industry as an Executive with Anderson News Company Corporate Office until early 2009. As Director of Corporate Purchasing at Anderson News, I am accustomed to conducting business with Senior level Managers and owners of all major (and minor) Publishing companies, such as Time Inc, Hearst Magazines, Conde’Nast Publications, Meredith Publishing, and many more. Anderson’s market share in the industry reached 36% of all newsstand magazines sold in the country at our height, which allowed me to manage $1.2 billion in business. My position as Director of Magazine Purchasing was to procure product, negotiate price, terms, Incentive contracts, and distribution for every magazine publisher in the country.
